What was it about Kubrick? I saw Clockwork Orange at the ripe age of 15 and was hooked. My first taste and Eyes Wide Shut the finale. A genius and I never use that word.

I have a book called ‘Kubrick Directs’ that you might be able to find on Amazon, if your a ‘fan’…I had seen Spartacus when I was younger, even Paths Of Glory – and loved them both, but didn’t realize it was KUBRICK…the master.
It was 2001: A Space Odyssey, that kicked in the name recognition and utter awe.
I saw that at the opening in Hollywood…[on acid] you can imagine what a trip that was.
Clockwork Orange opened at the CiniDome…I was there, again first show, happened to be in the afternoon…so I caught the evening show as well.
wow wow wow all the way home….
Somehow I managed to miss Barry Lyndon…and still look forward to viewing that one day.
I have a great book of Clockwork Orange – still shots 2per pg. with dialog … it really gives a sense of the film.
Yea, I’m really bonkers over the guy…he died too young, I wanted more…

I’ve made my mind up on his demise. It can only become amusement for the masses. What he and Sydney Pollack got was the Vatican Asaassination.

I suppose then you have seen the site where Kubrick is analyzed scene by scene in video format – the name the guy that is into this escapes me at the moment. But it is really fascinating, as he goes through the time sequencing of each scene and the stacking into stanzas, the props, angles, lighting, etc. – on top of the dialog and placement of characters.
There is indeed a tapestry of hidden meanings in every aspect of the work of this genius Kubrick. I spent hours on the site the first time and have been back a few times and studied it more.
